“UN And Pope For United Religion”

In 1996, world leaders at the UN looked forward to the coming 21st century and began to put together an agenda to deal with world issues for the new millennia.

The United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) met in Istanbul. There UN leaders and national representatives finalized the UN framework for global governance. Conference director Dr. Wally N’Dow stated going into that meeting, “We will have written a new economic and social agenda geared to the needs of the world community in the new Millennium.”

Habitat II leaders didn’t hide their intentions. Their documents show their plans to change your family, community, beliefs, and finances. Their intent is for UN representatives to “manage your village, monitor your work, demand your service, and dictate your training in global citizenship.” All the radical action plans outlined in earlier UN world conferences [regulations concerning the environment, consumption, population control, gender equality, etc.] would be implemented through the Habitat II design for your neighborhood. Common values would be required. Every person would be trained to embrace global spirituality, a pantheistic blend of the world’s earth-centered religions. “We are working to create a single integrated system of spiritual and religious ideas that is capable of ‘faithfully interpreting’ the essential aspects of the theologies of most or all existing world religions traditions” stated a Habitat spokesperson.

The Habitat Agenda states that Biblical Christianity and traditional gender roles would be out - along with capitalism and cars - and global socialism would be in. No one would escape the watchful eyes of UN agents. “Build capacity for monitoring and evaluating compliance...at all levels”, states the Habitat Agenda.

So it should have been no surprise when this past week, it was announced that the leader of the Italian Democratic Party, Walter Veltroni, proposed the creation of an ‘Organization of Religions Nations’ Rome-based, and said that the idea was liked by both the secretary of the UN, Ban Ki-moon, as Pope Benedict XVI.

“I have discussed the idea to make Rome a place where a building could be constructed that would be called ‘United Religion’ with the secretary-general of the UN and the Pope; it would be a place for all religions in the world.”

The headquarters for three of the United Nations agencies that deal with food are already located in Rome: the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Organization for Food and Agriculture (FAO) and the Global Agenda Food (WFP).

The Bible tells us that in the last days, the false prophet will come and give power to the Anti-christ and establish a world church. The groundwork for that time is being established even now. This is another sign simply pointing to what the Bible calls the “end of days.”

The return of Jesus Christ is closer than many think…even those in the church. Are you ready for that moment?

“The Hits Keep Coming, Baby!”

When I was a young teen, I had a radio tuned to a station out of Los Angeles [I lived in California]. Late at night when the lights were out and I was supposed to be sleeping, I would quietly [it had to be quiet as I had two younger brothers in the room that would do anything to get me in trouble] turn it on and listen to the famous DJ, Wolfman Jack. Night after night he would tell his audience “don’t go away baby, ‘cause the hits keep coming!”

I’m seldom at a loss for information when writing this article as the news is filled with current events pointing to the fulfillment of bible prophecy and the soon return of Jesus Christ…the hits keep coming.

We know that the Scriptures tell us that Russia will be a major player in the end-times. I have written numerous articles concerning this nation and it’s behind the scene activities as it postures to become that key player.

There were a number of interesting reports this past week that put Russia at the forefront. A Russian news agency reported that Moscow has cancelled $12 billion of Iraq's debt, or 93% of the total sum owed by the Middle East state. Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin and his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zibari signed an agreement on the cancellation of the debt in Moscow. Iraq's debt to Russia stood at $12.9 billion.

Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Zibari signed a $4 billion dollar memorandum of cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific and technical spheres. Zibari said that the memorandum will “open doors for Russia for full-fledged participation in all projects and tenders to be held in Iraq…We are counting on long-term joint projects in the oil and natural gas and energy sectors”. Lavrov said Russian companies intend to become actively involved in the reconstruction effort in Iraq. [emphasis mine]

We also saw Russia’s Vladimir Putin use one of the last major speeches of his presidency to deliver a defiant message to the West, accusing it of unleashing a new arms race that left Moscow no choice but to retaliate in kind. The speech removed any lingering doubts that Russian foreign policy might become less aggressive once his hand-picked successor

“It's clear that a new arms race is unfolding in the world,” said Putin. He vowed that Russia would respond to the threats by developing newer and more modern weapons that were as good as if not better than those possessed by Western countries.

And finally, A Russian strategic bomber's sweep of an American aircraft carrier near Japan was “part of the country's bid to reassert its global military might,” the U.S. Navy's chief of operations said.

A Tu-95 long-range bomber that was being shadowed by F-18 fighter jets buzzed the USS Nimitz in the western Pacific Ocean twice at 2,000 feet on February 9th. Such Russian bomber flights were common during the Cold War, but have been rare since. In recent weeks, Britain and Norway have had to scramble jets to also intercept Russian bombers entering their airspace.

All of this is simply a reminder that Russia is becoming a major player on the world stage once again. Ezekiel 38 tells us that it will have a key part in the final days. Our response is to acknowledge that “the signs just keep on coming” that point to the return of Jesus Christ and to tell others of His soon return.

“Oprah and World Peace”

You may have heard commercials on your radio over the past several weeks by Oprah Winfrey. She has been promoting what is called, “A Course in Miracles”. She has been dubbed the “New Age queen” and is beginning to make some ripples not only in the political world but now in the religious arena. Her wealth and star status is having a major impact in more than one way.

Last year, she began pushing on several of her T.V. shows “The Secret” with his heresies. Beginning January 1st of this year, she began a daily feature on XM Satellite Radio featuring “A Course in Miracles”- one lesson a day which will be on T.V. later this year on her new T.V. network.

A woman named Marianne Williamson has picked up and run with the “Miracles” course, which was channeled to a woman back in the 1960’s. In 1965 Helen Schucman heard an “inner voice” saying, “This is a course in miracles-please take note.” For ten years she took spiritual dictation from a demon who said he was “Jesus.” The three volume, 1,188 page, 500,000 word book known as A Course In Miracles. Written between1965 and 1972, and making its public debut in 1975, “A Course in Miracles” has become the “New Age” bible and a favorite of necromancers, channelers, shamans, priests and disciples of the New Age (Religion of Ancient Babylon) ever since.

Here are a few statements from the course:

• The devil and demons are a myth [My Note: of course the “voice” would say that—it is a demon!]
• “Forgiveness” is simply recognizing that sin does not exist and therefore there is nothing to forgive.
• Ego (not God) created the world. The world we see is illusion, and God does not know it exists.
• The Name of “Jesus” is just symbolic of all the gods to which you pray.
• The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself.
• Man has never sinned; therefore, he has no need of salvation.

This should come as no surprise in these latter days as the Bible is clear that some will not give heed to sound doctrine but rather listen to the doctrine of demons [2 Timothy 4:3-4].

But the story of Oprah's and Williamson's push for all things unusual and unrighteous does not stop here. Williamson is trying to get a Cabinet level seat as a part of the “Peace Alliance” push by the two women. To put this into perspective, one only needs to consider what the Bible has to say about peace apart from the Prince of Peace. It says it will be a futile effort and even bring destruction [1 Thessalonians 5:3]. The Antichrist will play off of peace, but Daniel says “by peace he shall destroy many” [Daniel 8:25].

Oprah and friends believe this “Peace Alliance” will usher in an era of global peace founded on “New Age” spirituality. They refer to it as a “civil rights movement of the soul.” I call it what it is—“enslavement of the soul.”

“Christians and Wiccans?”

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I first saw the headline of a pastor excommunicated from his church for all things…“of getting too amicable with the city’s Wiccan community.”

At first I thought it was about someone trying to reach this section of his local community. After all, Salem, Massachusetts was the setting for the “Salem Witch Trials” that took place more than 300 hundred years ago. But as I read more, I was shocked as I found out that the pastor, Phil Wyman, had definitely crossed the line.

Pastor Wyman was the pastor with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel [a Pentecostal Christian church]. He is an expert on Wicca [a variety of pagan witchcraft], a well practiced interpreter of dreams, and an avid participant in the city’s annual Halloween celebration. He operates a pagan-Christian discussion forum, offering Web site links to pagan sites and encourages fostering personal friendships with witches.

As controversial as these actions may be, is it enough to “excommunicate” the man? Maybe not on the surface, but further delving into his beliefs reveals the real truth of his beliefs: Wyman’s mission is to break stereotypes about Christians and Wiccans. He says many Christians don’t realize Wicca is a nature-based religion.

“Christians have a National Enquirer view of pagans,” he says. “They think they must be worshipping Satan or sacrificing babies…or they view the pagan community as a well organized machine that’s after the church. That’s a sad picture…We want to break that.”

Pastor Wyman points to the fact that he has he’s gained the respect of one of the leading members of the Wiccan community, Christian Day, 38, a witch and psychic who says he is able to communicate with the dead. Though he’s never been to a church service, Day often stops by The Gathering [church] to say hi to Pastor Phil and says he’s attended several church events. Pastor Wyman affirms the beliefs of Wiccans. The two of them offer the community psychic services [Pastor Wyman - dream interpretation, Day - psychic readings].

The problem here is that Pastor Wyman says that he is reaching out to Wiccans as a missionary. However, there is no division from them…they are so comfortable with what he’s doing they haven’t taken issue with him about anything he says. The word of God invites confrontation.

Paul the Apostle writes to Timothy that in the last days, there will be those that have a form of godliness but deny the true power. The Gospel is the power of God to transform [change] lives. It was never meant to appease mankind.

We may shake our heads when we read about events like this. However, they should shake us up and cause us to share the wonderful message of Jesus Christ with others. This is simply another clue pointing towards the soon return of Jesus Christ. Have you shared with anyone this past week this glorious truth?
