“The Times They Are A-Changin’"

The Executive and Legislative political forces in Washington are quickly moving in step toward integrating the United States into a global, one-world economic order. Two events within a month of one another in Washington, D.C., reveal that the United States is accelerating ancient prophecies of a global one-world order government. On April 30, President Bush signed an agreement to integrate the economies of the U.S. with the European Union; and on May 20, 100 delegates from Canada, Mexico and the U.S. met for a “North American Model Parliament.”

President Bush signed what resembles a treaty [without Senate ratification] that begins with, “We the leaders of the United States of America and the European Union…” The document unites the governments on economic integration and encourages “other countries to adopt the transatlantic economic model of respect for property rights, openness to investment, transparency and predictability in regulation, and the value of free markets.”

The North American Model Parliament is supported by the same Council on Foreign Relations people who are working with American politicians of both parties to establish a North American Union. Among the “parliament’s” goals are to develop the participants’ sense of “North American identity.”

The Bible in the book of Revelation foretells the coming of the Antichrist, a powerful figure of whom Revelation 13:7 says, “Authority was given him over every tribe, tongue and nation.”

Many have scoffed at those that teach bible prophecy saying that it is foolishness. Their reasoning is that the U.S. would never succumb to surrendering its freedom to one person or another organization. They question how a person could rise to such prominence and achieve that kind of global influence? As evidenced by these events, it is becoming clear that within the halls of government and politics the ground work for a one-world government is coming in fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

Daniel 7:24-25 describes the one-world order and administration of the Antichrist, saying, “The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom. Another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones … and shall intend to change times and the law.” 1 John 4:3 forewarns us “…the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming,…even now is already in the world.”

The words to a 1964 song by Bob Dylan exhort: “Come writers and critics who prophesize with your pen, and keep your eyes wide the chance won’t come again...For the times they are a-changin’. The line it is drawn the curse it is cast, the order is rapidly fadin’…For the times they are a-changin’”.

So what’s it all mean? The stage is being set for the return of Jesus Christ!

“Convergence of Two Prophetic Dates”

This past week saw an unprecedented, once-in-history convergence of two major prophetic dates. The first date, Thursday, May 17th observed the day Jesus rose into heaven (Acts 1:9). This came 40 days after the resurrection. This is a type of “Rapture” [when Christ comes to catch away his Church] spoken of in the New Testament.

The second date, Wednesday, May 16 (overlapping May 17), was Iyyar 28 on the Jewish calendar. Possibly the most important prophetic day in 2,000 years was June 7, 1967 when Israeli forces took Jerusalem in the miracle Six-Day War. In Israel, it is observed as “Jerusalem Day.” On the Jewish calendar [360 days a year], June 7, 1967 was on Iyyar 28. Again, in 2007, Iyyar 28 will land on Wednesday, May 16. Therefore, since that Jewish day begins at sundown on the 16th, that means Ascension Day, or the 17th, begins just a few hours later, which makes both days overlap. This once-in-history convergence overlaps on the 40th anniversary of that 1967 event. It marks what many consider the end of a biblical generation.

It was in the 1967 war that Israel, the biblical fig tree, “sprouted its leaves” and recaptured not only Jerusalem, but the Golan Heights, Gaza and the West Bank. Unfortunately after the 1967 war, as an act of good will, Israeli General Moshe Dayan gave control of the Temple Mount over to the Arabs, which has caused nothing but conflict ever since. Many believe General Dayan was disobedient to God’s gift of the Temple Mount to Israel, causing Israel to experience 40 more years of testing and suffering which expires in May 2007.

Does that mean anything? Many believe that the prophecy in Luke 21 was fulfilled in 1967 because Jerusalem finally came under Israeli control. "Look at the fig tree (Israel) and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." (Luke 21:29-32)

Are those of us living today “this generation” to which the Scripture is referring? Just before His crucifixion, Jesus spoke of that future event in 1967 when He prophesied, “They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations (the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70). Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” (Luke 21:24).

All of this simply reminds us of the accuracy of the Bible and the reality that Jesus Christ is coming again. And when He comes again, a convergence [the Rapture] of the saints of God will take place at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! (Revelation 19)

"The Old Shell Game"

The shell game is portrayed as a gambling game. However, in reality, when a wager for money is made, it is a confidence trick used to perpetrate fraud. In bunko slang, this famous swindle is referred to as a short-con because it is quick and easy to pull off.

The game requires three shells and a small, soft round ball, about the size of a pea, and often referred to as such. The swindle begins by placing the pea under one of the shells, then quickly shuffling the shells around. The operator then takes bets from his audience on the location of the pea. In the hands of a skilled operator, it is not possible for the game to be won, unless the operator wants the player to win.

The operator's trick is sleight of hand. A skilled operator can remove a pea from under any shell (or shells) and place it (or not) under any shell (or shells) undetected by a player. So it is of no benefit to watch the movement of the shells and the operator's hands.

Today, the con game is being played out by the Federal Reserve and Wall Street through the stock market and the fall of the US Dollar vs. the Euro. First, the dollar is an illusion; there is no such thing. A dollar is a unit of measure, like a quart or a gallon, not a thing in and of itself. Dollar bills used to carry the legend "Will pay to the bearer on demand, X dollars in lawful US currency". Until 1933, lawful US currency was silver or gold. When FDR ordered privately held US gold confiscated, lawful US currency became a thaler's [a measure] worth of silver. In 1967 the legend was changed to read, "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private," in effect, becoming the thing it was supposed to measure. The dollar, no longer backed by gold or silver, became an instrument of debt backed by America's collective property holdings and future earning power; your property, your earning power, your collateral.

On the surface, the today's stock market is hitting record highs and people are elated at their winnings. However, unnoticed by the average American, the Euro continues to go up in value, while the dollar is declining each day on the international market. The bottom line: the dollar in your bank account, 401k, IRA is worth less than you realize. It sounds complicated but it is actually very simple because that's how the con works.

In Bible prophecy, Europe plays a leading role in the last days as it becomes a seat of global government and the foundation of the global economy. On the other hand, Bible prophecy makes no mention of the USA. The decline of the US Dollar and the rise of the Euro point in exactly the same direction that Bible prophecy says the world will go in the last days.

We have a choice: to believe financial page that conveys all is well and enjoy the good life. Or we can take note of the biblical signs pointing to the return of Jesus Christ. So, which shell do you want to pick?

“Th-th-th-that's all Folks!”

The phrase was first used at the end of a 1930 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon. While many characters used it, Porky Pig was probably the most notable of all. Well, Porky would be in big trouble these days if he went to school in Maine.

A student at a Maine Middle School has been suspended for his committing of a “hate crime.” What was the crime? Placing a ham sandwich wrapped in a baggie on a lunch table where a Muslim student was sitting.

The local police are investigating the incident, and the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence is working with the school to create “a response plan.” That’s right…a response plan—to a ham sandwich!

Now before anyone gets upset and accuses me of bias, let me go on record to say that I am against crime…all crime and practical jokes should be punished. However, being charged with a hate crime for putting a ham sandwich on a table is crossing the line.

It’s interesting that Jews also believe pork is unclean but, there has never been any effort by the public school system to remove pork, in order to honor their religious beliefs. For that matter, Christian holidays and values are being summarily removed from public schools and the system sees no problem with doing so.

Congressional Bill HR 1592 is on a fast-track to be passed within one month of being written [to be voted on at the time of this writing]. The bill by Rep. John Conyers of Michigan extends hate crimes legislation to include sexual orientation and gender identity and includes the words “perceived or actual.” Under HR 1592, any speech that is critical of Islam, homosexuals, transvestites, aliens, (legal or illegal) would be criminalized. Amendments to add protection for pastors, rabbis, and other religious leaders that declare homosexuality as a sin or other views based on their faith have been defeated. This weekly article and others like it could soon be considered a violation of the law.

The language of HR 1592 claims that “violence motivated by sexual orientation and gender identity poses a national problem.” The real issue that poses a national problem is the attack against Christians and their fundamental right to believe and practice their faith.

This attack on true Christianity should not surprise a follower of Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 3:1 says, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.” The Living Bible translates it, “In the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian.” How much more evident can it be that these are the last days the Bible speaks about?

It’s becoming clearer by the day that a line is being drawn that will separate the true follower of Christ from the nominal believer. Make no mistake, Jesus is coming soon and when He does…“th-th-th-that's all folks!”
